Sponge Rubber Sections – SRS – are made in all different shapes and sizes. The sponge rubber is skinned so as not to absorb moisture. In some cases it is attached to a firm rubber to improve fitment. The sponge is designed to compress to form a seal or to cushion against another surface. Some profiles have a hole in the middle, to allow for extra compression.
A lot of profiles are used on early vehicle boots, bonnets and doors. Others are used to cushion between two flat surfaces.
